Winch Control

The sea is not always forgiving, and in an emergency, passengers and crew must be evacuated by lifeboat. In rough conditions, this becomes even more challenging, as lowering a fully occupied lifeboat safely onto a moving surface requires absolute control and precision.

The hydraulic solution that addresses this issue is a winch control system with sea‑state compensation. In such a system, the steel cables used for lowering the lifeboat are continuously kept under tension. As a result, the winch retracts the cable whenever a wave lifts the lifeboat. This ensures greater control and allows the lifeboat to be lowered safely into the water.
